Ysl Privé - Babycat in general

Created by master perfumer Dominique Ropion as a tribute to YSL's iconic leopard print, Babycat takes vanilla and gives it claws. A sharp, smoky opening of black and pink pepper and resinous elemi sets an intense, almost feral tone before frankincense (olibanum) and saffron build a warm, incense-heavy heart. The base is where the concept fully lands: a raw, leathery Bourbon vanilla wrapped in a sensual suede accord and cedarwood, deliberately playing up vanilla's animalic, leather-adjacent facet rather than its usual sweet, gourmand side. Bold, unconventional and genuinely different from typical vanilla fragrances, it's an excellent recommendation for customers who find standard vanillas too soft or sugary and want something with real edge
