Why does the fragrance folio exist?
it is the mission of The fragrance folio to make it easy for everyone to try niche perfume in the comfort of your own home. Personally I have bought countless bottles and tried even more niche perfumes. To make sure no one has to go through the same hoops as I did I created this website. This way everyone can experience the beautiful world of niche perfume.
Who is the fragrance folio?
The fragrance folio is run by me, Qukii (pronounced cookie). I run this out of a small town in the Netherlands called Deventer.
In the past four years I have gone down the rabbit hole that is the perfume industry. Trying hundreds of niche perfumes. Finding out notes that I love, hate and everything in between. This collection of niche perfume is a reflection of my personal taste combined with some fan favorites. This is the reason some brands are represented more in our offerings. This is the same reason every perfume also has a personal note, feeling, emotion or opinion on the product page.
fragrance as art
Scent has an incredible subconcious tie to emotions and memories. Every perfume evokes emotions, memories or images to me. If you are reading this you might feel similar about perfume. However, smelling the same perfume we might have incredibly different experiences.
Because of this I recommend everyone to try as many perfumes as possible. One day you might feel sad, happy, want to relive a certain memory.
Some fragrances might be incredibly similar in theory but one might evoke memories of happiness while another might be uninteresting to you.
The same can be said about fragrance notes. You might hate a certain note from all the times you have tried it, then you find a fragrance that uses it in a different way and you fall in love with that note.
That is why I see fragrance as art. Emotions and memories in a bottle!
